Floridian Warming Up to Thunder Lineup

Central Florida may be the last place one would expect to find a hockey player, but Orlando is where new Right Winger Andy Sorensen is from. Sorensen signed with the club Saturday night after agreeing to terms with the Thunder. However, Sorensen is no stranger to Central Illinois as his father grew up in Dwight and still has family in Bloomington and Dwight, and whom he'll be rooming with for the rest of the season. Sorensen grades out as a two way forward, with coaches praising his mental approach to the game, seeming to be one step ahead of his opponents. Meanwhile, while he has a deadly accurate shot, it could be sped up. Andy has yet to receive any formal college offers, but his recent 30 on the ACT should raise some eyebrows both on the ice and off.
